Corporate or Small Business Team-Building Experience in Paper Marbling

Let your team experience the magic of marbling decorative and abstract papers with this easy-to-pick-up introductory workshop to a centuries old practice. This single session workshop will give your team the opportunity to follow their curiosity as they experience the spontaneous magic of paper marbling and also learn how to control classic, intricate patterns.  Participants will be walked through all the techniques you need to make mesmerizing designs in vibrant colors of the season.

In this workshop each participant will:

·      Create 12+ marbled papers, 12” x 19”, yours to keep.

·      Learn basic patterns common in traditional marbling.

·      Explore spontaneity in freestyle marble designs.

·      Try Ebru Drawing, a way to make pictures in floated inks.

The event includes 2 hours of guided experiences with instruction, and 2 hours of open exploration of techniques.  This is a very open-ended experience, with lots of room for group discoveries, individual curiosities, and creative expression.

All participants will have their own marbling stations where they can make 12+ artworks that are 12"x19", theirs to keep. Art will be dry enough to take home, but I also offer a free flattening service of all artworks, which will take about 2 weeks.

Your team will be encouraged to embrace spontaneity, experience discovery through play, learn from each other's approaches to the craft, and unravel their individual voices through abstraction in this low-pressure, fun activity.

Artist Keith Garubba can facilitate a team-building atmosphere tailored to your group. By default, your team will be given an experience in which everyone is encouraged to explore their own creative voice, while picking up ideas and discoveries from their neighbors.

All materials are safe when handled properly, but let me know if you have an allergy or sensitivity.  This experience can be messy, please dress appropriately.  Bring aprons and smocks, or wear mess-worthy clothes.
